Evidence-Based Virtual Treatment

Help When and Where It’s Needed

Behavioral Therapy

PTA telemedicine providers are Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) credentialed to render Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Behavioral therapy is an effective treatment for improving a child’s behavior, self-control, and self-esteem. ABA therapy is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics as the evidence-based gold standard treatment for autism spectrum disorder.

Counseling and Therapy

We can assist children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing changes or challenges related to difficult transitions, grief and loss, school related issues, behavioral difficulties, family separation or divorce, abuse and trauma, anxiety and depression. PTA provides licensed, telemedicine-based counselors trained in a variety of therapies, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, ERP, FFT, EMDT and ACEs trauma.

Pediatric Chronic Care Management

Our pediatric behavioral and mental telemedicine providers support pediatric chronic care management for both inpatient and outpatient treatment plans. About one in five children has a chronic condition that must be managed appropriately. Integrating mental healthcare providers and social workers into the management process is an important part of compliance and achieving better outcomes.

Pediatric Psychiatry

Our pediatric psychiatrists focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults. Other psychiatric telemedicine services include medication management, treatment of co-occuring medical conditions, and care team coordination. PTA’s virtual services enable facilities to provide more comprehensive treatment plans, care for more complex patient presentations, and proper follow-up care after discharge.

Psychological Services

PTA telemedicine providers are licensed clinical psychologists specializing in working with children, adolescents and young adults, including those with co-existing medical conditions. Emphasis is placed on family-centered care and regular consultation with care team members and the emotional, behavioral, social and developmental needs of the individual.

Treating a Range of Conditions

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Up to 50% of children and families dealing with autism do not have access to behavioral intervention (ABA) services. PTA’s ABA telemedicine providers can help close that gap by providing direct therapy services, as well as training to parents, caregivers and teachers. PTA’s board certified ABA providers focus on increasing positive behaviors while decreasing negative behaviors in patients with ASD.

ADHD/ADD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) are among the most common conditions experienced by children and adolescents. Successfully treating ADHD/ADD often requires medical, educational, behavioral, and psychological intervention. PTA’s evidence-based, multi-modal treatment plans are tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family.

Depression and Mood Disorders

PTA specialists provide a wide array of evidence-based strategies via telemedicine for depression and mood disorders in children, teens, and young adults. Individualized care strategies and family involvement are part of every PTA treatment plan, enabling effective outcomes, recovery, and easing the transition back to home and school.

OCD and Anxiety

PTA mental health specialists are committed to helping children, adolescents, and adults learn the skills needed to gain control of thoughts and behaviors related to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and OC-spectrum disorders, anxiety, panic, and social anxiety disorders.

Patients receive a personalized care plan for their unique needs, including a comprehensive, but manageable, exposure hierarchy that becomes a road map for addressing their concerns.

Substance Use Disorders and Addiction

60 million Americans battle at least one addiction that adversely affects health and happiness, including tobacco, alcohol, and opioids. Evidence-based PTA telemedicine programs increase access to addiction treatment services by removing the barriers of geography and stigma. PTA offers psychological support and medical treatment for addiction and substance use disorders. Our teams of care providers collaborate to support participants with expert medical care, peer recovery coaching, and care coordination.
